Sitemaps for Your Business Website
February 22, 2024Should you pay these? No, that is the answer. You should not pay these. What are these? These are scams. This is a letter from domain listings, another one from domain listings, another one from Domain Registry, another one from US Domain Authority, very official, and also IDNS. I'm not seeing too many of these anymore, but I used to get a ton of them. These are all companies that are trying to scam you. They are using information that is somewhat public knowledge to find out if you have a domain, and then sending you a form that looks like this very official and as a bill and can be concerning because you don't want to lose your domain, but they're scams. This is for a domain that I don't really use, but I have many domains in my business. Lemme see here. Transfer and renew your domain. So it says transfer, excuse me, it says transfer and renew your domain name online@www.idns.ac. So this is absolutely a scam. This is absolutely, lemme see here, a scam.
How to make payment. Ooh, how to make payment. Make sure you make
Your payment. Don't make your payment. It's a scam. These are all companies that are finding out you have a domain and they're trying to reach out to take your money for no real reason. Do not pay these. The reason I'm making this video, I've actually been wanting to make this video since before I started making videos because it infuriates me that there are companies out there that try and take advantage of people and that is exactly what these people are trying to do. Again, transfer and renew your domain. So you don't need to transfer your domain. Your domain is already purchased through GoDaddy or Host Gator or Bluehost or name cheap or a ton of different places out there. Those are the only people you need to pay to maintain your domain. Do not pay these, especially do not pay this company, if I remember correctly, they're trying to charge the most domain listings.
Yeah, $288 for nothing just to get your money. So do not pay these if you get any of these in the mail. The other reason I'm making this video is I just had a client I was talking to, we're just starting a new project and she's like, oh, I just got this letter and pulled out one, I think it was domain listings and it's like, oh, I paid this a year ago. I don't know why it's coming up again. So it works. People pay these, people give these scamming people money and they receive zero benefit from it.
So this subscription includes, let's just read through this real quick. So the domain name g squared studio.com, that's my domain description of services annual website domain listing from October 1st through September 30th. Total for annual listing subscription includes annual website domain listing on internet directory. So they make it look like you're paying for your domain, like it's time for your domain to come up for payment and for you to make that payment. But all they're doing is putting your domain on some sort of listing. When was the last time you went to, lemme see if I can find domain listings directory to look up a website. That's not important to your business. You don't need to do that. You do not need to pay this. Sorry for the rant. I just get so pissed off at people trying to take advantage of people. And the really sad thing is this works.
I have clients that have paid these, don't pay these. It pisses me off that there's companies out there like this trying to take money from people, providing them basically zero value and just stealing from 'em and are being successful at it, are receiving money from this on a regular basis. So they keep doing it and keep sending out the mailers. So sorry for the rant. Need to get this off my chest. Do not ever send a check to domain listings. Do not. Sorry, I made a complete mess over here. I'm all frustrated. Do not ever send a check to Domain, sorry. Focus Domain registry. Do not ever send a check to IDNS. Do not. Lemme see. There's one more. Isn't there? One more? Yes. Oh, the one that's so official. United States domain authority. Do not pay these people. Ignore these. When you get these, do this. Rip 'em up. Be frustrated that companies like this exist and they make money. Okay, that's my rant. Don't pay him. I hope you have a lovely day. Actually, you know what? I hope you have a great day and great success.
